Under-Deck Addition
From unused under-deck area to a refined retreat featuring a custom library and living room.
Warm & Classic Living
For this couple living among citrus groves and horses, the dream of expanding their home meant more than just adding space—it was about creating a place of comfort, style, and personal expression. This under-deck addition home library transformed an unused under-deck area into a refined retreat complete with a fireplace, built-in shelving, and a rolling library ladder. The result is a warm, timeless space that perfectly reflects the homeowners’ lifestyle and love for design.
From Awkward Deck to Thoughtful Living Spaces
Before: The space beneath the deck was covered but awkward.
Multiple angles made both the interior and exterior difficult to use. Furniture placement felt forced, and the flow to the outside was limited.
After: With a squared-off footprint, the space is intentional and balanced.
A set of double doors opens directly to the patio, connecting indoors and out. Inside, the room offers two distinct experiences: a library lined with custom shelving and a rolling ladder at one end, and a comfortable living area with a fireplace, TV, and seating at the other.

Classic Comfort, Modern Craft
The design of this addition balances timeless character with everyday livability. Warm wood tones, cased openings in crisp white frame the entry, creating architectural definition and flow. Neutral furnishings and layered textures keep the space inviting, while black French doors provide contrast and natural light. The result is a style that feels both classic and current—comfortable, refined, and distinctly personal.

The custom granite hearth was precision-cut, the millwork meticulously finished, and every component built to last.

From Print-Out to Reality
One of the biggest challenges was building the space based on the clients’ ideas and just a few inspiration photos. This meant close collaboration, on-site problem solving, and creative thinking.
